We minimize data collection from children. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

• Terra Chatbot messages: When a child uses the Terra AI chatbot, their typed messages are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Messages are not permanently stored by us and are discarded when the browser session ends.
• Device identifiers (cookies): Google Analytics sets cookies that collect device-level usage data (pages visited, session duration, device type). This data is anonymized and cannot identify individual children.

We do NOT collect: names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, photos, videos, audio recordings, or precise geolocation from children.

3. Terra AI Chatbot & Parental Consent

The Terra chatbot is an AI-powered educational assistant that teaches children about America's founding principles. It is powered by Google's Gemini 2.0 API.

Before a child under 13 can access the Terra chatbot, we require parental or guardian verification. Parents must complete our age verification and consent process, which confirms that a parent or guardian authorizes their child's use of the chatbot.

AI training: Chat inputs sent to Google's Gemini API are processed under Google's commercial API terms and are NOT used to train Google's general-purpose AI models. We do not permit the disclosure of children's data to any third party for AI training without separate verifiable parental consent.

4. Email Subscriptions (Parents Only)

Our email signup forms collect email addresses from parents and guardians — never from children. We use these to send updates about the book series, educational resources, and launch information. You may unsubscribe at any time.

5. Parental Rights

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

• Review any personal information we have collected from your child
• Request deletion of your child's personal information
• Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information
• Withdraw your consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@libertysprinciplesmedia.com with the subject "COPPA Parental Request." We will respond within 48 hours.

6. Data Retention

• Chat messages: Not retained after the browser session ends
• Parental consent records: Retained for as long as consent remains active, plus 3 years for compliance documentation
• Analytics data: Google Analytics default retention period (14 months)
• Parent email subscriptions: Until unsubscribe is requested
